1984 85 hp Force. Mine was running fine then on the way in it cut down to about half speed. I thought fuel problem but when checking spark the top cylinder of the three cylinders had 0 spark. We swaped coils with second cylinder still no spark on top cylinder. So coils not problem. Please note this when pulling motor cover off while engine running friend got zapped with electricity. So thinking perhaps we have a short but we can not find a cut or rubbing wire. Has anyone had this problem?

Re: 85 Horsepower 1984 Force No Spark

Welcome, its the weekend, people are out and about, not at home on their computers, thats all.

What I would do:

Follow the wire from the coil, back to the cd unit.
Each cd unit has output to service 2 cylinders.
Since you have a 3 cylinder motor, one of the cd units is only servicing 1 cylinder, and has an extra output wire just hanging there. Check to make sure its not grounding anywhere.

Hopefully the entire cd unit has not failed, then you can use the other unused output.

You may have to switch around the dc units so that the good unit services 2 cylinders, and the 1/2 bad unit can service the 3rd cylinder.

The wiring diagram in the back of a Clymers repair manual will help alot.
