I just purchased a boat with a 150 horse 85 evinrude motor. There is a little red lever on the right side of the motor. when you turn it counterclockwise the motor will die. Does this have something to do with the oil injection, and where should it be set at? Thanks in advance.

That's the choke solenoid. The way you turned it is for when you want to pump some fuel behind the carbs by squeezing the bulb. Its so you can possibly start your enging with a low battery.

ok thanks walker. So i am assuming i should just turn it all the way to the left then because right now it is set to just before the motor starts chugging and wanting to shut off.
