85 alpha one outdrive (gen one)

hi got a 1985 corsair 3,0 alpha one gen one was shifting great , then last trip out started grinding when shifting into reverse. no wont shift into reverse help dont know where to start

either your teeth are gone from the reverse gear or you need to adjust the reverse shift point on the shift cable. If you "grind" too much when shifting in either reverse or forward, the gears will strip or break. Its always better to shift fast with a "clonk". check the drain plug and see how much shaving you have. It is a magnetic plug.
