I am having a problem on take off. Occasionally I have a loss of power on take off, causing the boat to not come up fast to plane. It doesn't miss at all It still sounds fine like it revs smooth and everything. You can smell gas when this happen though. Someone told me that it might be that the timing is not advancing so it still revs but the power is lost. Like I said, sometimes it does it off and on all day and some days it doesn't do it at all. In fact the first time out for the year it didn't do it one time. This has a thunderbolt ignition system that is all original. Is this what advances the timing? I noticed that there is no vacuum line on the distributor. Or does this advance due to the speed of the distributor spinning? I have no idea. Is this even the problem? thanks in advance.
