I've got a Seloc manual that refers to the appendix but the only rpm I see there is 5K which might be a bit high for idle speed (sarcastic).
The manual does not have an idle speed in the specs.

I've looked and can't find an RPM for the idle on this motor:
1984 Mercury Black Max XR2
Serial Number: 6532700

on a hose set it about 1050rpm as it will then idle about 900-975 in water with back pressure and in gear in water it will be600-750 rpms.
