Hello, I have a 1984 mariner magnum 150 and recently had the oil warning module go out. Since a new one was so expensive I decided to go ahead and just take it off. Before taking it off it would be a little hard to start the first time starting after setting five or six days but it would start very easily after that. It would idle up and run any where from idle to WOT no problem. After taking the oil injection off today and running it I pre mixed some gas to 50:1 and ran the motor, at start it put out a pretty big smoke but started and idled ok. I let it run for a minute then revved the motor up and when it got close to WOT it would sputter and die. I started it back up tried again. Did this about four to five time with no change. It sounds like the motor is revving just fine and then it just sputters and dies. I know this is a very broad question and could be several things but any and all advice would help thanks
