I've been working on my dad's 1984 Stratos 375V. It was a fine boat in its day, but has been neglected out in the weather for 10 years now. I striped it down and worked on everything. He now looks almost brand new. Well the boat is finished now, so I put new gas and oil in the tanks and hooked the water up to her. After about a minute of working with it, I got the motor running. So I decided to back her off in our 12 acre pond and try her out. Man! I am completely amazed at how good the motor is running. It has great throttle respone and plenty of power. I can get up to around 60mph before I reach the other side of the pond.

Can you experts give me any advice or tips on what I should do to a motor that has been sitting up for so long? It seems to run well but is there anything I should do before running it regularly?

Thanks
Chris
