I just bought an 84 115 Johnny and have no experience with a VRO motor. What's your opinion? Can you pre-mix the oil/fuel or do you have to use the separate tank? Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Tom Smith

Update.... seller says it's not a VRO... BRP site shows all 84 115's are. Does anyone know if possibly it could have been converted? I'll see if he can send me the model number to be sure of the year.

Apparently the VRO was taken off. Would I be better off adding it again, or just using it like it is? Are there any issues either way?

Thanks,

Tom

If the VRO has been disconnected properly then personally I would stay with premixing your fuel. You at least know for sure that you are getting lubrication as long as you remember to put the oil in.

the 1984 vro pumps were not reliable, that is why it is off. to go back to a mixing pump, you would need an OMS pump, $350, plus the tank and hose.
