'84 ignition switch question

I have a 1984 Merc 115 "tower of power". The ignition switch is obviously bad because it was turning the engine over when switching to "on". I also noticed the housing on the ignition switch was cracked. My question is will any 6 terminal mercury push-to-choke switch work? Is this year model a magneto style, or an electronic switch? how do I tell?
