84 Gamefisher question

was wondering if I need to start this one in water, or if it ok to fire it up dry? I don't know much about it, but seems to be a good motor...any one have an owners manual on this one?? Thanks

in the water. powerhead may be aircooled, but leg<br />uses water to cool exhaust gases.

when I bought it from the guy he started it up for me out of the water-so my next question then is did this do any harm to the motor? Also, will this cause something to go out?? Thanks for the reply mello yellow, do you by chance know what plug I should run in it? currently it has an NGK...Thanks again!!

good info here: http://home.earthlink.net/~brixent <br />older sears were made by eska, but an 84 might<br />be made by force???<br />one of the first things to replace on any new/old<br />motor is the water pump impeller. running dry<br />will burn it up quickly on some models.<br />good luck,<br />M.Y.
