83 Johnson 90 HP power tilt unit removale

I am trying to remove the power tilt unit on my 83 Johnson 90 HP so I can rebuild the cylinders. So far I have removed the six bolts, lift rod and power cables. I cannot slide the unit out. Feels like something is catching it. There is a flange right of the hydraulic oil cylinder that catches the unit. I am at wits end. Am I missing something? Should I cut the flange off? Thanks

Remove the motor mounting bolts on one side.------Loosen one nut on the pivot tube.-----Spread motor transom brackets a wee bit.-----Trim should then come out painlessly.
