I replaced a long overdue impeller this weekend for the upcoming season. Upon removal, one vane was missing from the impeller and nowhere to be found.

The motor seems to be cooling fine during sea trials, but I'm a little worried where the missing vane went. I did notice a few chewed up bits of rubber, but not enough to add up to the missing vane.

Question: Should I try to chase the missing vane (for example by removing the thermostat at minimum), or just monitor temp & hope the vane was chewed up and passed? As mentioned, the motor is cooling fine.

Removing the t-stat would be a good idea, for no other reason to make sure the bolts are not frozen and to test the t-stat to make sure it works.
