Just finished testing out the subject motor on my 19 foot Sea Nymph and found that I couldn't get more than 10mph out of it. I started it with muffs in the drive and it seemed to run OK and then with a load, it bogged down. It seems that the auto choke may not work since I have to start using the manual choke lever. Starts right up though but can't get much power. Any tips on where I should start? My sense is it is carburation and maybe something to do with the choke?? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Start with the spark first. Make sure you are getting a good blue spark to each plug that should jump about 7/16 inch, a real snap.
Then if thats ok, start checking the carbs.
Is the fuel fresh?

Best place to start on the carbs is by reading the OMC shop manual. It will take you through the entire process with pictures and diagrams.
