I have had my boat out twice this year and it was a little hard starting and stalled when trying to run across the lake unless I slowly increased the throttle. Both times I pulled the spark plug when I got home and it appeared to have a little water on the spark plugs. I put a set of ear muffs on and tried to start it a couple days ago and it would run about 3 seconds then die. Both spark plugs have water on them again keeping it from running. What can I check first? Would a compression test show if a gasket was leaking water inside the engine?

Yes, do a compression test first. Sounds like a blown gasket. Also both cylinders should be relatively close in pressure to each other. Rule of thumb would be within 10 pounds.

Also, you should run that motor in a barrel. You may not be supplying it adequate water with the muffs.

Thanks guys I just read an article in my local news paper about storing the fuel tank full so that it has less room for the E-10 to absorb water. I drained the fuel tank in the spring and put fresh gas and oil in only about 3 gallons tho. I checked the fuel filter on the motor and it was clean although the fuel in there looked clear and more like water. Do you think my problem could just be from water in the gas? It isn't like water is blowing out when the spark plugs are out and I pull the starter they just have a little clear liquid on the electrodes and it won't start unless I dry them off but then they foul again.
