Hi all. Not exactly sure of the year of this motor, although it has 89 at the end of its id #. It's light blue with a white cover.

Anyway - where exaclty should the motor be peeing from (sorry for my lack of terminology). The only place that water seems to exiting is about one or two inches below the back of the cover - directly in the center of the light blue shaft that runs down to the prop.

There's a hole there - water barely drips from it when idling, but when I rev it, it blows in spurts out of the hole. If this is the correct hole - should it be exibiting this type of behavior. Most modern motors I've used produced a steady stream of water out the pee whole whether idling or running full out.

I had an 86 model 15hp Johnson do the exact same thing. It would dribble at idle, and pee only when when I raised the motor rpm. I found a dead wood ant in the outlet tube connecting the motor to the pee outlet. :)

If your motor has a tell-tale, you should see a hose from the block connected to a fitting at the rear of the lower motor cowling. Older OMC's don't have a tell-tale. The water exits out the exhaust hole in the motor leg, where you see the spurts as it's revved up. If you can't remember (or don't know) when the impeller was last changed, it's time to replace it.
