80hp Yamaha wont idle?

I run two 1990 80hp yamaha's on my boat and this is the first time i have had any problems with them. I launch off the beach through the surf and recently had my one motor completely waterlogged by a wave. I have done a full service on the motor and have cleaned out the carbs as well the rest of the motor of all water. The problem i have now is when i start the motor it starts first time but it won't idle, it revs around 3500rpm or higher as soon as i start-up.<br />I have got new plugs and have re-cleaned the carbs and checked that the choke wasn't sticking.Also don't think its the cables as i've checked them too.<br />please help

hello<br /> I am thinking one or more of your throttles are open. you have to double check the carb linkage, if they are oil injected make sure the pump arm is in the correct place when attaching the linkage to the lower carb.
