hello all,,, needs some help
anyway the last owner completly destroyed the wiring in the rear compartment........you cant even imagine how bad..
its a 1980 skeeter and merc 115 elec ignition.
so far the only wires ive been able to clean up is the main battery +/- to the engine.........
the key switch turns the moror over and electric chokes it but will not fire...
1 problem at a time,,,is how im going to handle this....
SO OUT OF THE PLUG ON THE SIDE HAS 7 WIRES- RED BLACK WHITE- GREY ORANGE ETC..
I ASUME THE 2 LARGE BATTERY WIRES RAN TO THE ENGINE SELENOID AND BACK TO THE KEY SWITCH,,,,
SO WHERE DO THE WIRES FROM THE ENGINE PLUG GO- I GUESS THERE IS A HOTT FOR THE COILS AND A GROUND ETC.
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN OR HELP-- MY FIRST GOAL IS TO FIRE THE MOTOR- OR WIRE IT CORECTLY TO BE ABLE TO FIRE -RUN -N TEST.....
ALL OTHER ACCESORIES AFTER THAT..
WHAT IS THE SEQUENCE OF THE 7 WIRES FROM THE ENGINE SIDE PLUG??

MAYBE I DONT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING BUT HOOK UP THE MAIN TERMINALS--BUTT I SYMPLY DO NOT KNOW YET.......IM VERY NEW TO BOAT ELECS
