It would be a very good idea to get the gas out of the carbs and tank. Also, shoot some fogging oil in the cylinders and change the lube in the lower unit. It'll hold up a lot better if the fuel doesn't turn to gum or varnish in the carbs and tank.

Bulldog...

Personally, I feel you're much less likely to have fuel related trouble next spring if you add a good quality & proper quantity fuel stabilizer to your tank and fill it with
fresh gasoline when it's time to put your boat into winter hibernation. An empty fuel tank can collect moisture and we all know water and fuel do not mix well!! Plus, if you don't remove all the gas from the tank, fuel lines, filter, etc... it can turn sour and give you much grief later.

Once you've properly stabilized and filled your fuel tank, I'd recommend to run your engine long enough to fill the entire fuel systems with this preserved gas mixture, then "fog" the engine as per manufacturer recommendations. The gasoline residue left in a dry carb turns to varnish...which most often results in a major carb cleaning. Also, fogging coats the engines internal components with a protective film of oil that prevents any deterioration of these components as your engine naps all winter long.

Walt
