Thanks for everyones input on my earlier thoughts of using my late model 5.7 as a replacement for the stock 228-5.0 mercruiser. <br />Ive decided to bench the 5.7 for a future project on another boat due to the many compatibility issues.<br />Ill be using instead a new 5.0 2 piece main mercruiser long block with some new logs(suggestions on OEM VS.aftermarket).<br />My upgrades will be going breakerless ign,and a remote oil filter set-up. My question is , any other relatively simple upgrades you all recommended to enhance durability, and or efficiency (such as Intake/carb,)or as mated to my MR outdrive?
