To start I had a float that wasn’t closing. It was slowly flooding and causing issues while idle and fuel would pour out the throat on carb 1. I fixed that issue and engine started up quicker than ever. My question is I noticed when I turn the motor off I will get a few drips from the bottom carb. Probably about 4 drips total. Only when motor is off never while running. They do have a drip tray thing there I figured for a reason but I wanted to see if this is normal or if I should be screwing with it more. Thank you!!

I would leave it alone. 4 drips is nothing. When you turn the motor off, residual heat in the motor can cause the fuel in the carb to expand.

BTW- the drip tray is designed to catch fuel when the motor is tilted up.

Thanks for that info. I also noticed maybe one drip or so from the linkage which I have no idea where that could even come from. It isn’t much but I noticed it. Any ideas?

I assume you mean the linkage between carbs

.If the fuel overflows from the bowl into the carb throat, it is easy for some of it to drip past the brass bushing that holds the throttle plate. The linkage connects the throttle plates together, and there is no seal.

A few drips here and there on these old girls is nothing to worry about, in my experience.

One thing I learned from the mercury floats is new or not measure the damn spring and stretch it a little to get it right. I couldn’t believe it
