I'm working to get my dorm room mini fridge hooked up, and the control cables that came with it are a bit to long...

The mini fridge is a 1979 Chrysler 140hp 4cyl Model # 1407b9b, with the original control box.

Looking on the parts listing I found the PN: "F58356" and that's NLA...

I'm also not finding any cross-references to that PN...

Any help would be appreciated

Control cables that are too long are way better than cables that are too short--these will bind. There should be a loop about 2 feet in diameter in the splashwell for best operation. If the cables are really long, you can always make a loop inside the gunwale.

If this is not what you meant, post a couple of photos.

yeah by a bit to long = way to long

I could try lubing the cables, but while the control box is smooth as silk, after connecting the box up and looping the cable under the splashwell (good 3-4 loops) I'm finding some good amount of resistance working the control box...

And this engine sat in a field for a good 20 years, orig cables

I figured since I'm about to install the control box in an area that might be a bit hard to deal with later, so I figured some new fresh cables would be the ticket.

Are the control cables available, or should I see about working out the ones I have?

Thanks

Available right here on iboats stores or your local marine store. Teleflex Red Jacket (premium) with 10-32 threaded ends. Measure from the control box back to the transom and then over to the engine entry. add about 3 feet.
