Hi all,
I recently acquired a nice '79 140 w/ power tilt, but it didn't come with the tilt pump. I have a good one (although it's dirty from sitting on a shelf in the wood shop) from a Mercruiser of the same year, but the pump has a 3 wire plug and the control harness has a two wire plug and two other bullet connectors. The parts schematics for my motor and the Mercuiser show the same part numbers for the pump harness, solenoid, motor, pump, valve, etc., so I'm assuming that this will work for my motor, maybe after relocating a wire or two?
Can anyone help me get this wired correctly, including where the connectors from the control go? I'm mechanically proficient, but haven't worked with one of these before and my manual / wiring diagrams haven't arrived yet.
