Does my 78 55HP 2 cyl have one of the overheat warning buzzers in the control box? If so how can i test it to make sure it will still function without having to overheat the engine?

- also... it has the control box with the two levers for shift and throttle, Is it possible to use a different box with just one lever and the key switch and everything else built into it?
Thanks!

yes you can use a different control box. to test overhear warning, you can ground the wire that comes from temp sensor. to do that the key needs to be on and if it's like mine there's a piece of heat shrink tubing over the connection of wiring and temp sensor. I pulled it out a little and touched it to block and buzzer hollered back at me from inside the controls housing.

as far as the controls, the harness plug needs to be correct and the cables for shifting and throttle need to be at least long enough, then there comes doing adjustments
