'78 Evinrude Question

As I lifted my motor out of the water tonight, I noticed water squirting out of the seam between the lower unit and the upper part of the motor. Is this a problem? Is the seam between the two supposed to be watertight? Thanks for any help.<br /><br />Don Marsh<br />Woolwich, Maine

I was told this is ok.....the seam is only aluminum to aluminum. My '89 88hp evinrude does the same thing. It 'leaks' water from there when I use the muffs in the driveway.
