77 Johnson 35hp water/fuel leak

It looks like water is leaking from a screw on the top of the powerhead, part number 0315092. The screw is called

SCREW, lockout lever boss electric start models.

Is it ok to just put gasked sealer on the threads on this part? Anyone seen this before.

should not be leaking there, you may have a cracked block water passage.

Should not, but would have been possible that someone could have broken through with too long a screw. I would seal it and hope that the case is just punctured and not cracked.
