OMC made two different lower units in 1977. If you have the thru prop exhaust model, look for a screen that would be about half way between the prop shaft center line and the cavitation plate. This model would use the earmuff type flushette.<br /><br />If you have the other type lower unit that has a removable skeg, the water intake is located at the screen that you'll see located in that fin that drops down just above the propeller. That engine would require a special type flushette that clamps onto that screened area. I think they are (or were) made by a company named "Tempo". I don't know if they're still in business or not.<br />As a last resort, or matter of preference, you could run the engine in a trash can.
Where to hook up motor flush? is it the 3 small holes on side of lower unit? Thanks Dean
