? 77 evinrude 25 HP

Just bought a used Evinrude 25 HP- electric start.<br /> Model 25702S Serial E0002918. A dealer told me it's a 1977 Model. Ordered a Clymers book on it, but the schematic for that year isn't right. Schematic shows a terminal block..The motor doesn't have one of these. Am also missing the solinoid. I was wondering where those x-tra wires go..now I know. Any help out there?

Sal.... That engine is indeed a 1977 25hp Evinrude. If it came from the factory as an electric start model, those items (choke solenoid, terminal block, rectifier, stator under the flywheel) should all be there. However, if it came from the factory as manual start engine and someone simply added the electric starter itself, that would explain the missing items. I can think of no reason why anyone would want to simply remove and discard those items.
