76 evinrude 15 hp

just got a 1976 15 hp evinrude ,starts right up .shut it right down as im not sure where the water should come out of .i will replace the water pump anyways but where does the water circulate out of ?also got a trailer and a 14 foot geisler cedar strip boat in the deal.

Most of the water comes out the center of the prop at the exhaust outlet. There is no tell tale on that year outboard,dont believe they came in until around 78, just exhuast relief holes below the hood on the rear of the leg. it will spit a little water but not much. Great idea to change the impeller.

thanks alot,thats just what i needed to know.also will change the plugs as the person has those crappy ngk in there.what plug and gap?will get manual asap.
