Need some help.
Was out fishing for the first time in a boat I had purchased second hand(55Hp 76 Evinrude motor). Everthing was running well, I had stopped the motor and started it a few times. However after a bit of a run (about 10 minutes) I swithched the motor off, when I tried to restart it about 20 minutes later nothing happened. There was no sound at all when I turned the key.
The battery was fully charged.
I am no expert on motors but it sounds like an electrical problem.
Any ideas would be a great help.

Thanks in advance.

HI
how can you tell battery is fully charged?
Connect a test-light or voltmeter from starter housing to starter motor stud. Attempt to start and observe if any voltage getting to motor. If voltage present and motor not turning = bad motor(open armature, worn brushes etc.)
If no voltage at starter motor stud, measure if voltage getting to solenoid (large stud terminals) There should be voltage from engine block to both large terminals on solenoid when you attempt cranking. Check this and get back with results.

Good luck!!

:)
