76 115HP MERC IGNITION SWITCH

I have a 76 115hp merc, I recently bought a new switch and didnt draw a diagram can anyone help <br />I have tried to wire it the way I remember taking it off and when I conect the battery it smokes I need some serious help<br /><br />thanks <br />Ben
