My transom boot on my Lancer is taking on water, the boot is fine and the seal between the transom and outdrive is ok also. When the boat is the water (on the trailer) a little waterfall shows up just above the were the transom boot connects to the outrive. Is their a seal we are missing because their is no way the boot is leaking?

so take the boot off and see if the giant metal clamp is there. Then hold the boot up to bright sunlight, see any pin holes, rips?

Then using a good sealant " 5200 " maybe smear it on the transom and the boot and seal the edges of the boot also, and holes.

Make sure the arrow is pointed down.

I didnt mention in my first question but the water is coming in right under the bottom of the outdrive. Does that change anything? Would I also be able to tell wether or not the giant clamp is their without removing the transom boot?

yes stick a mirror in the engine bay as far back as possible. But you say the boot is leaking, maybe the boot is good and the sealant someone used is shot.

Listen it's a 90 dollar boot tops.
Taking it off is easy just raise the drive halfway, remove the screws and peal it off the transom easy like and you will be able to access the clamp. Then just slip it off the drive.

trucourse steering shaft and where the electric shift wire harness exit are two other possible places for water to leak in if it's not the boot.
