My first summer with my Johnson 50hp, and I have several questions. Recently when I put her in gear and try to accelerate, the motor "bogs down" and stalls. This does not happen all the time, I restart and do the same thing a few times, then she runs fine. When in neutral, with the start lever up she runs fine. Some one mentioned to me that it could be a bad coil arcing out. Does that make sense?<br />What about low speed needles? I have no maintenace history with this motor,(other than new power pack this season) so I don't know whats been changed since '75. How do you know if the needles need replacing/adjusting? Is it possible to replace them without removing the carb?<br /><br />And one more item, I need to get another prop, and I want the same pitch that I have now, so that the boat will run the same. How do I tell what prop is there now?<br /><br />Thanks!
