75 HP tach

How would you install a tach for Model 757 HC, 75 HP Chrysler? I think this is a 1976 year motor! Does this motor have an altenator or generator? jps

It sure does just find the two yellow wires from the stator and hook a alt. driven tach on one of them at the rectifier--Bob

Hello 51248jps. I have the same engine and would like to hook up a tach as well. Just wondering if you had any luck and/or if you had to use a special tach. Thanks!

Steve'o, No,I have not had a chance to work on the tach thing on the Chrysler 75 HP. There is a tach mounted in the dash of this boat, previous owner said it never worked.I don't know if it is the right tach or a bad tach. I'm hoping for more answers on this site. I thought I read somewhere that this motor uses a different tach than some motors. Had a snow storm here yesterday so will be sometime before I get at it. Lets keep in touch.
