75 HP Evenrude no power on take off

I have a 1993 Sunbird boat (16.5 foot) with a 75 hp Evenrude motor. Did a compression check 120 per cylinder. I just had the carbs rebuilt and it runs great, except for take off. If I have people in the back seat it takes a long time to plane. I tried to water ski and it will not pull me out of the water (I weigh 200 LBS), I learned to ski on a 17 foot boat with a 40 hp motor (Was 185LBS back then). My boat is lighter and the engine is bigger. Do I need a bigger engine? I took it to the shop and the mechanic told me to take the dolphin tales off the motor, will this help? Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

did you remove jets, including the high speed. read carb cleaning in Top SECRET FILE. also did you link n sinc it. you also have to balance the load in your boat. tail heavy it will never plane, what 75 do you have.

Paid $350 for the local boat place to do the carbs, so I am hoping it was done correctly. Have a 1979 Evenrude 75. Does this help? Thanks.

Also got a power prop, this didn't make much of a difference.
