I recently received a 74 Dixie trihull from a family member that has been sitting for a minimum of 5 years. Motor from the best of my research is a Volvo AQ130 (sticker on flame arrestor cover says Chrysler Marine, volvo 130 with an outdrive that says Chrysler Marine with a 270 on it. <br />engine block number 1283/88572<br /><br />I took the carbs apart and cleaned them throughly and actually have the thing running. My questions are:<br /><br />What type of engine oil should I use? I was thinking 30wt but saw some marine specific 15w-40 at Walmart. <br />Anyone know what oil filter to use? It currently has a Napa Gold 1307<br />Sparkplugs? Currently has Champion QL82YC<br /><br />What type of oil goes in the lower unit of the outdrive? I go the impression from reading something that these old units used engine oil instead of the standard 75W lower unit oil.<br /><br />Which manual is better Seloc or Clymer?<br /><br />Any other thing I should know about this setup?<br /><br />That's all for now.
