I have a 74 evinrude 25 hp, I have just rebuilt the carb, put new points and condensers in it and replaced a coil, now i have a good blue spark on both cylinders. Idles great in tank and in the water, but when you go to increase the throttle it bogs down and goes dead. Also if you dump it full throttle it will take off and run but no in between throttle. Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

Throttle linkage adjustment (linc & sync)
Dirt in intermediate ports (Under the core plug on top of carburetor)

Took the carb apart and recleaned everything but there was no sign of dirt anywhere. The problem is still occuring. Could the other coil I did not replace cause this problem even though it has a good blue spark?

Listen to the advice from F_R! The problem you describe sounds like a fuel delivery issue, not an electrical issue.

Just wondering if the timing was off could that cause my problems though it idles and cranks on first try.

Did you remove the core plug on top of the carb and clean the passages as F_R suggested.

rebuild the carbs. Chase all the circuits with a syringe full of alcohol. Your issue is fuel not timing. Your low speed jets or the circuit is plugged.
