73 seahorse 6 hp no power help

hi i finally got his engine to idle properly carb rebuild,new fuel pump etc!but now when i put it in gear it dies i got spark in both cylinders but when i rev it up in neutral it just doesn't have that 2 stroke zing it used to have its definately lacking power does this engine have a power head or any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ty

Did you use a manual to service your engine or did you do it by instinct?<br /><br />Details of tuning and "link 'n' synch" make a large difference. For example, if you set the mixture without a load on the engine you are too lean. <br /><br />Have you determined that both cylinders are making power? You may have a compression, crankcase sealing or reed problem on one cylinder.<br /><br />Good luck. :)

hi jb thanks for the reply and tips i talked to a mechanic at a local outboard repair shop and he suggests the same thing you are that both cylinders are not firing so i will pull a plug lead off while shes running and see if theres any change if i ever get home before dark lol thanks again mike
