As all good cadets, I learn everything about boating the hard way. :(

After winterizing, I stored the "good old" 1973 9.8 in a new trailer that lost power over the winter. The first bad sign was the gear oil on the floor.

There is about a two inch hairline crack running horizontally from the end of the housing around the prop.

Can this motor be saved and where do I begin? Welding Shop? Boat Mechanic?

All help really appreciated. That motor and I have had some great times.

i had one welded and it worked ok, need to remove the inside parts of the housing to avoid heat. at least it would give time to look for a replacement foot
