73 Lower-housing to 79 powerhead swap?

73 115hp Evin-and 79 115hp evinrude v-4 73 is a crossflow and the 79 not sure of.
I have a 73 lower unit and a 79 powerhead and want to know if they will work together. The 73 powerhead is shot and the lower unit is shot on the 79. This will probably take some real knowledge on evinrudes

It is my understanding that the 73 - 77's have parts in common, but not the 79.
