73 Johnson 115hp v4 no spark

73 Johnson 115hp v4 starts and runs fine for 15 min then shuts off and no spark. No spark from any coil.was thinking stator, new one is around $500 what's the best way to test it to make sure??

Take ohm readings on the stator cold and report your numbers.

Brown wires 658 @2000 setting and 0 on yellow wires

Yellow wires are part of the battery charging circuit.----If you are in Canada used stators may be available.

But would that cause engine to lose spark then?

Bad rectifier can cause stator to overheat and loose spark...
