i just bought a 1972 searay with a 165 hp mercruiser and the hydralic lift for the outboard will not stay up or down it sometime goes up and sometimes not the same with keeping it down in the water i already replaced the hydralic pump with a used one but it and it does the same thing the previous owner told me about the problem and said it blew out the side of one of the pistons twice he said he was told it was a lock reversing valve and one have any ideas
