72 Johnson/Evinrude 9.5 HP

To whoever may know, Ive got 2 72 OMC 9.5 outboards. I'm looking for decals for both the Johnson and Evinrude models. Are these parts available through an OMC dealer or do they need to be special ordered? Also, the props are bad on both. Is it advisable to have them repaired by a prop shop or should I just buy new. One last thing - I bought these recently and have not been able to keep either running for more than 10 seconds. I'm guessing it is a fuel pump problem but if it isn't, what should I look for? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A guy on E-bay has a graphics company and sell replacement logos for Johnson and Evinrude motors for about $7. Looks like he will also custom make anything you want..<br />Dave

Hi,<br />carb.<br />points cond. coils.<br />headgasket ( water on 1 or both plugs)<br />squeeze the primer bulb to manually pump<br />fuel to see if the pump is bad.<br />...have fun...corm
