[Super Sportster]

I was given this motor Friday, Saturday I fired it off, not pumping water, pulled pump, impeller good. Cleaned everything, flushed everything, pulled thermostat. Everything seems fine, nothing plugged up that I can find. Fired off again, a hint of water then it took off pumping great. Shut down, restarted, no water. Pulled thermostat cover forced water in with hose while it was running and put cover back on. Pumping like crazy now. I'm afraid when I shut it down it won't pump again. Water in the can it's running in is above the pump. Any ideas if it won't start pumping when restarted??????

What ever the hell it was is fixed apparently. I've shut it down a dozen times and it's pumping on restart.

This is really strange, on restarting if it's above an idle it will not pump water. It will start and continue pumping at slow idle and works fine above idle after that. Maybe it does need an impeller???? I've seen worse that work fine.

Upon further investigation it quits pumping water above idle. Impeller had too much of a set to it that I didn't see until lining it up with the pump housing hole. Flipped the impeller over and it works like a champ! Thanks for all the advice!!
