I have a 1972 50 hp Johnson dual carbs. Motor ran fine but had electric choke issue. Fixed that issue and put boat in the water and fired but was sounding real sick. Replaced plugs and ran fuel treatment in the tank and sprayed carb cleaner in carbs while running. Not a whole lot of carb cleaner. I have tried adjusting the carb mixture and while it does make it run better still sounding as if its on one cylinder. I felt the wplug wires after running it and one was warm and the other was cool. I checked for spark and have plenty of spark on both cylinders yet the top cylinder plug looks brand new still and has no trace of gas or oil on it and is dry while the other plug is wet with oil and gas mix. So am I correct that one carb goes to each cylinder and my top carb is plugged????? PLease let me know any ideas. Thinking I will have to pull both carbs off and cleasn real good. Thanks in advancefellow boaters.
