I just bought a really clean old glastron. I have found little wrong with the boat, but I am stumped on why my fuel and volt meter gauges don't work. I got underneath the dash and cleaned up a wiring "rats nest" someone left behind after installing new white faced gauges (wish I had the old black ones).
I got the gauge lights working, and everything looks like it is in good order. I do have 2 loose wires that I don't now where they go. One comes from the main wiring loom on the starboard side, it is purple with a light gray broken stripe, it has a round connector on it like it would install on a gauge and lock down with a nut. The other is a solid purple wire that comes off the electric trim switch on the left side of the instrument panel. I have checked the connections at the sending unit and they seem fine, with good voltage reading. I dont see any way to remove the sending unit, as the tank seems to be unmovable, (probably is, I just don't see how yet).
The volt meter was reading 0 and was making a sudden jump and click sound every few minutes while running the boat, but since I have cleaned up the mess, the needle has buried itself at about the 5 0'clock position.

Sorry for the length of the post, but hopefully descriptive enough to field some expertise advice.
