72-73 65hp electric shift

Will a 72 bottom, electric shift fit on a 73 top. both are electric shift, 73 top half is in great shape. I'm thinking there the same motor. Anybody know?

I thought that the '73 changed over to mechanical shift.

1973 model is not a hydro-electric shift, it is a hydro-mechanical shift. what are the model #'s on the motor you are working with.
