Hi,

Quick question. In my over eagerness to replace the water pump. I forgot to take note of how the impeller fits into the housing. Which way should the blades face?

Regards

Ian
Turn the driveshaft clockwise and the fins will be facing counterclockwise. Actually, I doesn't make any difference which way you put it in. The fins will turn the correct way as soon as you start the motor.
Ok Thanks,

Done that.

Now, Which way does the driveshaft seal fit into the waterpump cover? Spring facing down or spring facing up?

thanks
turn the impeller correctly there is NOT enough room for the blades to reverse in the housing. some of the jabsco and johnson pumps will evinrudes wont. I get 2 or 3 a year with "new" pumps that overheat due to the impeller blades being backwards.
good luck and keep posting
