I bought this engine/boat about a year ago and heard it run briefly before I brought it home. I just tried to get it running again the other day and was having a little trouble getting it going,so I pulled the plugs to see if they were wet. The middle plug was soaked milky white. I cranked it over and water came blasting out the center plug hole. I removed the head thinking the head gasket was blown, but I could'nt see any evidence of water leaking past the sealing ring. Is there anyplace else I could be getting water into just that one cylinder ? Possible warped head or crack I can't see? Anyplace else? Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Have you checked the exhaust/waterplate on the side of the powerhead.if there is a hole in the middle plate, exhaust cooling water can circulate through the exhaust and into the bores, hope this may help.

Thanks Steve 2 for the tip! I had thought about taking it off for a look, but I was'nt sure if that was a possability. I work on cars for a living and have had some experience working on 2-cycle engines, but these water cooled outboards are a little new for me. Well thanks again! I think I will get started on it tommorow. Catotonic
