70tlr starting issue

2006 Yamaha 70tlr will start up quickly out of the water, but I have trouble starting when the boat is in the water. When it does start it runs great. Thanks.

are you using the proper starting procedure as listed in owners manual?

How is the compression, more back pressure while in water so motor breaths differently

the compression is at 120 average. the boat start up when I move the red lever to override. I took it to a mechanic and now it idles rough like the timing is way off.

red lever helping means carbs or prime start system is not doing what it should are not doing
