Ok.
I managed to get the trim tilt assembly onto the engine without taking the motor off
Wasn't that bad really.

Tomorrow I'm on my way to buy a relay box with the cables etc

Now I've searched internet high and low and I can't find out whether the box is to be located under the cowl or mounted inside the boat.

I would prefer under the cowl myself but I am unsure. Last time I looked at the box I noted the length of the battery cable and it did not seem to bode well for me.

It is IDENTICAL to the one in this ebay post

75-235hp Johnson Evinrude tilt & trim relay junction box with 20" Harness | eBay

Will it mount under the cowl?

Thanks guys.

That box In your first post mounts inside the boat , inside of the transom or other convenient spot.-----On the newer motors ( look it up for say an 86 model ) there is a box that mounts up above the carburetors. ---Is the trim motor a 2 wire motor or 3 wire ??

Based on the battery power cable on the parts list, the trim control box likely mounts remotely, under the splashwell at the back of the boat. Yours should be the newer 2 wire system.

Thx man.
It is a two wire motor.

I might just make a relay box then
